18 months - 23 months
Physical Focus: walking/running/climbing with or without obstacles, utilizing hands and fingers, continuing to work fine motor skills by introducing use of silverware, pencils, etc.
Cognitive Focus: introduce manners, practice verbal communication both listening and speaking, identify letters, words, shapes, colors, and objects, explore and utilize sensory information
Emotional Focus: exploring feelings and emotions through imaginative play, begin tying words to feelings
In our 18 month-23month studio, we include much of the same activities as the 12 month-18month studio but begin to focus more on verbal communication as this is when your little heroes begin to learn and understand words. With this better understanding, their imaginations also begin to flourish so many of our activities will tailor toward imaginative play. For movement, we begin to let your little heroes practice as much movement as they are currently capable of. If they are still learning to walk, we will assist them as needed to progress. If they are already off and running, then we will give them the space and activities to build those skills. We don’t put any pressure on your little heroes. We simply provide them with a supportive environment that lets them learn and progress their development.
